Mommy time

I have an amazing husband who has my sweet baby boy at the house and I am on the beach enjoying a little mommy time.  Honestly I have never been on the beach alone before but it is kind of nice. Bryan told me to take my time and enjoy myself. The sun is out, there's a breeze blowing, and the waves are crashing and I am a happy girl!

Also if you haven't figured it out, I have learned to blog from my phone and I love it!  The pictures aren't that great but its fun!

Little Boy in a Big Boy Toy

I know...he's not quite ready for the exerciser toy yet but he actually had a good time hanging out there today.
He was doing a great job holding his head still and just laid it back on the cushion seat most of the time.  He liked the music that it plays and then some of the toys flash lights which really caught his eye.  We had fun playing today!

My blogging plans

Keeping up with a baby book is hard to do and scrap booking is just not me.  I don't enjoy cutting, gluing and creating beautiful pages with stickers and punchy things about my baby. It's expensive and takes up too much space which we just don't have.  I just don't feel creative enough sometimes either to create a scrap book. So instead what I have decided to do is print my blog once a year for Will.  I pretty much blog about all of the important things that Will and our family are doing so why not save myself some time and energy and just print the blog.  Sitting down at the computer and uploading some photos with a short paragraph is so much easier for me to get done during the day.

As soon as Will arrived, I printed my blog about the adoption journey.  Now I have a hard cover bound book about everything that Bryan and I did while waiting on Mr. Will.  I love my book and can't wait to share it with him when he gets older.  There's lots of memories on a blog and I hated not to have them with me.  I used the website http://blog2print.sharedbook.com to print my first book.

Now for a few pictures of Will.  ENJOY!!

Lazy Monday

Will and I did absolutely nothing today.  We laid around the house all day and watched TV.
 It was a nice day!

Please excuse this picture of me.  No makeup and dirty hair does not look great but look how sweet Will was being.

Even Roxy didn't move around much today.  She just likes to keep her eye on the neighborhood.

Bryan's First Father's Day

I want to start off by saying that Bryan is a wonderful father!  I always knew that he was going to make an amazing dad but I really love how hands-on of a dad he really is.  When he gets home from work, he scoops Will up and takes over.  He feeds, changes diapers, and gives baths.  Most nights he will tell me to go take a relaxing bath and he will take care of Will.  How lucky am I?  Some of our favorite talks are about how he can't wait to take Will to ballgames, fishing, and races.  He wants to teach him things and be involved in his life in every way.  Right now, he tries to make Will laugh at him and can't wait for the day that he laughs out loud!  I know I have already said it but Bryan is an amazing day and we are both so lucky!

Back to Father's Day...

Bryan's day started with a little cuddling this morning with his two favorite babies.  They slept in this morning and didn't get up until 8:30.

When we finally got out of the bed this morning, it was time to open presents.  Will was excited about watching his dad open his gifts that he personally chose.

Will picked out this really nice Big Green Egg grilling set of tools and ...

a new pair of Sperrys!  One of Bryan's favorite things!

Today was also a big day because we took Will to church for the first time.  We thought what a better Sunday to introduce Will to the church family than on Father's Day.  Everyone got ready and we loaded Will up.

Will did great during the service.  He slept some and woke up towards the end but never got upset.  Everyone was so excited to meet him and the preacher even introduced him to the whole congregation and wished Bryan a special first Father's Day!

After church, we had a little lazy time.

This afternoon, our parents came over for afternoon dessert.  I made this angel food cake with berries and whip cream.  I know it doesn't look the best but it tasted really good and fresh!  We exchanged gifts with all the dads and also celebrated Bryan's mom's birthday.

Happy Birthday Nana!

I forced all the dads on the couch for a picture.  Don't they look comfortable?

My dad and I with Will and their dog Gracie.

Let me say just a few words about my dad.  My dad is wonderful!  I admire his genuine heart, work ethic, and his ability to do just about anything.  One of my favorite things about my dad is that he is handy.  He can fix anything and build anything.  If he doesn't know how to do it, he just figures it out.  I always said that I had to marry a man like my dad because he had to know how to do "stuff!"   My dad is kind and sometimes quiet and I know that he would do anything for me at any time.  He has always been there for me and now Bryan and Will.  We love you Dad!

Tonight, Bryan grilled us a steak for dinner.  Now I know I should have cooked him dinner but grilling is something that he enjoys so I didn't really feel bad about it!

We have had an amazing day together!  Our family is so special and so blessed!

Daddy we love you and Happy First Father's Day!

Father's Day Frosty!

Bryan and I went by Wendy's on the way home from dinner tonight to buy a frosty because...

When you buy a cold and delicious Frosty over Father’s Day weekend, Wendy’s donates 50 cents to Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. You can also donate by purchasing a Frosty pin-up for $1. And kids can go online to create Father’s Day e-Cards from a variety of scenes and objects–like sandcastles on the beach or baseball in the backyard–and send it off to their dads. Wendy’s donates an additional 25 cents to the Foundation for every Frosty Card sent. In 2010, our Father’s Day Frosty campaign raised $1.8 million.

Helping an child find a forever family + a chocolate frosty=A day I can
definitely celebrate!Who will join me this weekend in buying a Frosty?

Thanks CAS for the information!

Laundry & Flowers

How can something so small create so much laundry?  I promise you that I just washed Will's clothes yesterday and this is what he has created so far from last night and today.
He is definitely keeping me on my toes!

Also my wonderful friends Scott and Angela and her parents Keith and Deborah sent me these beautiful flowers for the passing of my grandmother.

Thank you for remembering me during this time.
