Mr. Independent

Will is now holding his bottle by himself.  He started while we were gone on our cruise.  He can also drink out of his sippy cups by himself as well.  Except for the fact that when he is done, he throws it down on the floor!

Will is struggling with some congestion and runny nose right now.  We have kept him inside this weekend trying to get him better.  Nothing serious but we can just tell that he doesn't feel like himself.  Hopefully he will be back to normal soon!

Back to Will

Poor Will has not been mentioned this week on the blog so I need to catch you up.  He went to the doctor on Tuesday for his 9 month check-up.  He currently weighs 18 lbs and is 28 inches long.  He is in the 50 percentile for his weight and height.  Thank goodness he only had to get one immunization.  The doctor checked him out and said everything looks great.  He complimented us on our schedule that we keep Will on and said to keep it up.  I told him with two working parents, the schedule is the most important thing for us.  It makes our lives run so smoothly!  The doctor told me to start letting him try table foods in small doses.  Also, we need to cut out his bottle at bedtime.  The doctor said we didn't have to go "cold turkey" with the last bottle but just start watering down his formula so he doesn't rely on it.  Will just needs to get use to going to bed without anything to eat.  We have already started working on it.  Other than that, Will is a perfect, healthy, happy 9 month old baby!

Cruise 2012 Finale!

Day 5 was in St. Marten which was one of our favorite stops.  The downtown is so colorful and lively.  The beach we went to was called Orient Beach and was so much fun!

St. Marten has water taxis that you take from downtown back to the cruise ship.  So much fun!

View from the water taxi.

Dinner that night.

Our nightly surprise was a monkey hanging from the ceiling.

Day 6 was spent in St. Croixx.

Of course we headed to the beach.  The beach was called Cane Bay.

We ate lunch at a restaurant across the street from the beach.  The name of the restaurant was just called eat.

 Sea urchin on the beach.

The guys did a little snorkeling.

 St. Croixx downtown

Nightly creature was a sting ray.

 Final dinner on the ship

Our two dinner tables all week.

It was Erin's birthday on Saturday so they brought her a chocolate cake and we all sang Happy Birthday to her!

Saying good-bye to Zola!

That's all folks!

The trip was amazing!  Bryan and I hesitated about going because we were not sure how we would do away from Will for a week and how Will would do staying with Nana that long period of a time.  We booked the cruise before Will joined our family so it was a tough decision on whether to go or cancel.  Looking back on it now, I am so glad we decided to go.  Bryan and I had so much fun together and with our friends.  Some moments were really hard because we missed Will so much but he was fine and it did us some good to get away.  But I can assure that he will come with us on our next big trip!
