Toys R Us!

Today we took Will to the grand opening of a brand new Toys R Us!
We tried out some new chairs.
(Please notice one shoe gone, this happens every time.  I really can't keep shoes on him.)

New Shades
(We bought these because every almost one year old needs a pair of blue aviators!)

and we met Geoffrey!

After so much shopping and fun, Will was exhausted!

Happy Birthday Bryan!

Today is Bryan's 36th birthday!  We didn't do much this year but I did get him a cake and some balloons. We celebrated his birthday at home tonight which was just fine with him.

He was greeted by Will and a big kiss and hug!

They opened some birthday cards.

I cooked spaghetti for dinner and of course Will tried it and loved it.  It was so messy!!

After dinner we blew out candles and had some cake.

Will loved the balloons!

Now for a serious moment...Bryan is the most amazing husband, father, and best friend I could have ever dreamed of.  He is such a strong supporter for this family and takes such good care of Will and I.  I knew that he was going to be a great father but he is even more amazing than I ever could have imagined!  Seeing this makes me love him more and more everyday.  We have been married for 9 years and we still laugh together and have fun together.  Things just get better and better everyday!
I love you with all my heart and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Smarty Pants & Some B&W's

Will is so smart he can remove his pants without even bending over!  He stands on them and slowly works them off.

Success!!

(Please excuse the food on his sleeve, this was right after dinner!)

Teacher Moment

I need to have a teacher moment because I want to share a book.  This year I have really been making an effort to read the books that my kids are reading.  Being able to recommend and discuss books with my kids is something I enjoy in my classroom.  Also I have noticed that if I am reading it, my kids are more likely to want to read it after me.  Sixth graders are hard to connect with at times and being able to talk about books and recommend them is a connection that we have.  Anyway,  I just finished Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick and it has been on of the best reads so far this year.  I would actually recommend it to anyone not just middle schoolers.  It is so good that I wanted to share it on my blog!  It is not a difficult read but has so much meaning to it that it actually brought tears to my eyes when I finished it.  (I know, cheesy right???)  Any age person would love this story and I can't wait to share it with my kids!

11 months old

Friday at the beach, Will turned 11 months old!

I would have to guess that he is close to 20 lbs.  He is wearing 12 month clothing and size 3 diapers.  Will is eating lots of things now.  He will try just about anything but he crams his mouth full so we have to watch him very closely when he is eating.  He only takes about two formula bottles a day and the rest is food.  He loves the Gerber cheese puffs and Cheerios.  He has a head full of blond somewhat curly (wavy) hair!  We are working on wearing shoes more often, right now he is wearing a size 2.

Some of his tricks are waving hey, patty cake, and giving high-five!  I believe we are up to seven teeth, a new one is coming through as we speak.  He sorta kind of says mama and dada.  Not sure if he does it on purpose or not but we love it!

He is the sweetest baby ever!  Most of the time, he is smiling, laughing, and so playful.  Right now, he loves to open and close doors, swing outside, and dance.  He likes to play with Roxy and dig around in his toy box (which is really my storage ottoman in the living room).

As you can see, he is into everything.  He crawls and stands up all of the time.  We really think he is close to walking.  He will even try to climb things!

Will is not afraid of anything and will go to anyone.  He is very friendly!

This afternoon, Kendra came over to see Willie Nelson (this is what she calls Will and it makes me laugh).  She brought him an orange cupcake which turned out great because we celebrated his 11 month old birthday!

He loved the cupcake and had fun playing with Aunt Kendra!

Spring Break at the Beach!

Wednesday we headed down to the beach to enjoy spring break.  When we got there the first few days were chilly but yesterday it finally warmed up and was nice.  Will enjoyed the beach and playing in the sand.  Thank Goodness!!! While we were there, Will turned 11 months old.  I can't believe next month he will be a year old!  Our trip was great and Will did really well with the traveling.

Will got a swing for the beach house and a new ride!!

Will's first time on the golf cart!

11 months old and on the beach!

We love spending time at the beach with Will and our family.  Bryan and I are so glad that Will likes the beach and plays well in the sand and water.  Can't wait to go back!!!

On a sad note...I can't believe my spring break is over.  Back to work tomorrow but let the countdown to the end of school begin!!!
